Plumbing & Piping

Plumbing is any system that conveys fluids for a wide range of applications. Heating and cooling, waste removal, and potable water delivery are among the most common uses for plumbing; however, plumbing is not limited to these applications.

Pipe fitting or pipefitting is the occupation of installing or repairing piping or tubing systems that convey liquid, gas, and occasionally solid materials. This work involves selecting and preparing pipe or tubing, joining it together by various means, and the location and repair of leaks.

  • Plumbing drainage venting.
  • Rainwater, surface, and subsurface water drainage.
  • Sewage systems and septic systems with or without hot water heat recycling.
  • Steel pipe is sometimes joined using threaded connections.
  • Copper tubing is joined using flare connection.

Summary of Plumbing and Piping

The plumbing system as a whole is made up of different pipes, fixtures, joints, parts and subsystem, which overall work together to make an efficient system. The three types of plumbing systems are supply lines, water drains and the vents. They are the main core, if either one of them goes missing then whole of the system would fail to work efficiently and effectively.

The basic purposes of any pipe fitting are connecting the bores of two or more pipes, connecting a pipe to a different apparatus and connecting pipe sections, changing the direction of fluid/liquid flow and Maintaining or regulating the flow, Closing and sealing a pipe.
